Gracie has this habit of asking me what time it is. She usually asks in the evening when I tell her it's time for bed... not that she has a real concept of time yet... She is slowly catching on though. The other night she asked what time it was. "7 o'clock" I replied. She looked out the window, "Oh, that must be why it's starting to get dark"
On my last set of days off Gracie was sick and slept in til 9 am. She sat up in bed and asked,
"Mom, what time is it?"
"9 o'clock, Sweetie"
She thought for a second, shifted her legs under the covers, "Well, what does that mean?"
It didn't dawn on me until I pre-wrote this post in my head, but she must have been really confused over what time it was. Gracie usually goes to bed at 9pm... its dark outside... That morning when she woke up the sun was shinning bright and I was getting Suzie dressed. I don't think she realized that there are two sets of 9 o'clock.
Last night when Chuck and I were putting the girls to bed Gracie announced, "Mommy, I need to get a clock for my room."... wha??.... I chuckled at her, "Ok, Gracie. We'll get you a clock for your room"... she is gettin' too big for her britches...

Love the new look~
I'm with you, she may not have realized that there is an am and pm.
I can still remember when I could lie about the time and my girls would go to bed, just because it was bedtime!

I love your design. I just found your site from Extravagant Grace, so I never saw the old look, but this one is fabulous. Isn't Elisa wonderful? I've enjoyed reading through your posts. You have such great wit and insights.
She'll do great when she learns to tell time in school - she has a head start!
I really love your new look! Did you do it yourself?
Love your design and the title is fantastic! We actually kept a running tally of the cute things our kids said and thought. You think you're going to remember them forever, but the older they get the harder it is to recall!
Great site! I just blogged about bedtime stories we told our girls when they were little...so cute at that age!
Hey, I love this site! So great. It's you.
Great blog. That Gracie... you're going to have to keep an eye on her. Maybe both eyes.
Love you, R
I love your new look...very cute header :)
Kids are so funny, and that time thing is hard to figure out!
oh i love it! you're beautiful. look at your bright new site!can you stand to click away from it?
Wow...the new look is soo cute! You and Rachel definitely have "sister" blogs w/the ponytails and all.
Asa is really into the time thing as well. He has figured out that the first number on the clock is the hour so he'll run to our bedroom and look at the clock. Then proceed to correct us about the time if he thinks we're wrong...6:53...it's not 7 o'clock...it's 6 o'clock. Do I have another Josh??
LOVE IT, LOVE IT! Although, you should have been on the segway...not in a car! :)
Kids and time are funny. Kids are money are even more entertaining!
LOVE YOUR NEW LOOK!! It is so cool.
My sweet Gracie - time can sure be confusing. You'll have to get one ofthose card board clocks (if they still make them) and move the hands around for her to see.
Love ya Mom
Surprise!!! Look how pretty your page is... I love the colors, the graphics... it's beautiful.
Glad to see your "new look" is finished.
Have a great weekend.

Aw! My Juju loves to talk about the time of day as well. He is learning the terms, evening, morning, afternoon. He seems obsessed with whole thing.
Must be the age, cutie kids.
I adore the new look, it is so cool!
