...I just realized I didn't give my post a title. Hmmmm, what should I title it? The Title-less post? No, that sounds too much like titleist- as in golf ball
Whew! What a busy weekend. I spent Friday morning getting all the little things packed and food carried out to the camper. Chuck got home just as I finished up. He hooked up the camper. Then his boat... we were quite the train... We left around noon for our 2 1/2 hour drive. Along the way my brother sent me a text picture of his new baby girl.... congratulations Pete and Julie. Gracie can't wait to see baby Avery...
The weekend as a whole was good but a lot of little piddly things went wrong... Surprisingly maneuvering the camper and boat proved to be the easiest thing... We unhooked the boat and set the camper in position only to find out that we were about 50 feet short on our electrical cord... great! no electricity- no refrigeration- no a/c- no lights- no warm water... We knew it was supposed to rain so we quickly leveled the camper and moved the slide out... you can't move the slide out while its raining because it is only sealed while its all the way in or out... Chuck and Gracie left to see if they could find an extension cord somewhere.
Just minutes after they left, a camp employee came around and told everyone we were under a severe thunderstorm warning. Josh didn't want to stay in the camper so we went up to the bath house. Fortunately we didn't have bad storms and it only poured rain for a few minutes. The rain let up and we went back to our camper. Chuck and Gracie were already back. The camp ground rented him the extension so he didn't have to go hunt one down to buy.

Chuck and Suzie fishing for blue gill Friday night

Chuck went fishing early Saturday morning. He only brought back one fish.
He said "The Big One" got away

Caleb was eager to get out on the tube.
He had a blast!
This was the view from our camper.
It was so relaxing to wake up, sip coffee and view the lake
Like I said. The weekend went pretty good, but a jumble of little things added up to make me pretty stressed out by Saturday night. Then to top it off-Sunday while we were getting things ready to leave, I hit the switch to move the slide in. It moved in far enough to unseal and it quit. This was just about the last straw for me. Chuck fiddle with a few things and tried to move it in with a manual crank. He finally hooked up his truck to the battery and after a few minutes of charging- the slide moved in just fine.
We have a few things to fix before our next camping trip in July. I also want to order new blinds and make some new curtain. Whoever designed this stuff for campers obviously never camped!
Hope everyone had a good Father's Day. I took the girls down to one of the shelter houses where they had things set up for crafts. The girls each made Chuck a card. They had lots of fun picking out pretty "pink" stickers for his card.
I'll be around to visit every one's blog as soon as I can

It looks like a great camping trip in spite of the rain. I can't wait to go camping again!
What lake is this? I know most of them up there. Looks like you had a blast.
Goodness, we can't go camping without the amenities of home can we!! ha ha :o) Pictures are great - I love your view - how relaxing and peaceful looking.
Love you all
I love the picture with the one fish that Chuck caught... and that the big one got away.
When I looked at the next picture I kinda giggled becuase your son was riding a tube behind a boat and I thought to myself... "Don't let this one get away... you'll sure miss him if you do."
So glad you had a wonderful weekend. I know it poured becuase we too had that storm move through... but sometimes those are the BEST memories down the road.
Hugs to you friend.
Glad to hear you guys had a great Father's Day.
Baby Avery.. Hope was going to be named Averie up until the day she was born. I even had the letters up on the wall in her nursery. I had to change them when we got home from the hospital.
Just wanted to drop by and thank you for your uplifting words. Sometimes my "cyber friends" offer more comfort than the ones I see daily. Thanks for being there.

Looks like you guys had a great time! Love the pictures of the kids!
Sounds like fun! My hubby is a camping purist...he's not happy unless I'm miserable :)
He hates campers & insists on a tent, no running water etc.
So much fun with kids - HA!
