A, B, cant you C she cant read

Yesterday, Edith picked Suzie up from preschool. Chuck was helping Ray, so Edith took Suzie with her to run a few errands and have lunch with a friend.

Suzie had never met Mamaw's friend, Amy, and being around someone new usually renders Suzie quiet and shy... an indirect side effect is a well-behaved Suzie...

Suzie sat quietly as the two friends chatted. Amy even commented to Edith at how good Suzie was being. The waitress came along and passed out menus; one in front Edith, one in front of Amy, and then one in front of Suzie.

Suzie picked up her menu and tossed it across the table. The menu slid to a halt in front of Amy. Suzie accompanied her action with words laced with sarcasm, "I don't want that! I. cant. Read!"

Edith and Amy burst out laughing.

Hearing Edith tell the story and mimicking the way Suzie pronounced her words, I could hear the Duh in Suzie's tone. I giggled for the next hour, wishing I could've been there to see that.
