Spies and Cops among us

Back in June, Gracie and Suzie spent a week at camp. Friday afternoon I picked up the girls. We loaded up all their belongings... a car full!... and headed for home. Both girls, exhausted, fell asleep before we hit the end of the long lane exiting the camp grounds.

Forty five minutes later we pulled into the drive. I let the girls sleep... they were zonked!... while I gathered up all their clothes and blankets. I walked to the back of the house, put down their stuff, and walked back out to the living room. There was Suzie, bent over, digging in the winter coat closet.

"What are you doing?" I asked, surprised to see her so awake.... and so quickly too. I thought maybe she was putting some things away.... but it was summer.... and she was digging in the Winter closet... silly me

"Playing." Suzie's reply was muffled by the pile of scarfs and gloves she was digging in.

My curiosity peeked, "Playing what?"

"Spies." Suzie popped her head up.

I was speechless at the sight before me. Pulled down over Suzie's head was a Russian style fur cap with the side flapes pulled down over her ears.... all I could think of was the movie Spies Like Us.... a bright purple scarf wrapped around her neck and lime green mittens on her hands.

It took me several seconds to process what was going on. She just spent a week at camp. She slept all the way home. She hadn't been awake but 90 seconds.... and playing "spies" is something she had never done before...

"Did you play spies at camp?" I asked, thinking maybe it was a game she learned at camp

"No" Suzie replied while she straightened the gloves on her hand.

"You just woke up and decided to play ? Did you have a dream about them?" I was still scratching my head at the situation.

"Yep! and Nope!" Suzie answered both my questions, picked up her back pack and headed out the door.

"But its 90 degrees outside. You'll get hot in that stuff" I called after her.

"I don't care" Suzie closed the door behind her.

For the next 3 days, Suzie played spies; dressing up, packing luggage for trips, and hiding around corners... Then she decided she needed transportation, out comes the 4 wheeler.

Day 5 of "Spies"... I took the trash out to the dumpster. On my walk back to the house, "Officer Suzie" zipped past me on the 4 wheeler, circled around and stopped in front of me. She scribbled on a paper and handed it to me.

"Whats this?" I asked

"A traffic ticket" Suzie shifted into gear and sped off.  ....what the heck? LOL... that girl is crazy!

A week gone by and Gracie got sucked into Suzie's world of imagination. While Chuck was outside working in the yard, the girls zipped past him on the 4 wheelers. A few minutes later Chuck went to the barn. The girls were walking out, chatting in a frenzy.

"Be careful, Daddy." Gracie warned. "We just put our prisoner in their. He got 10 years for drunk driving and 20 years for punching Suzie!"

Chuck paused mid step, processing the information just spouted off.
The girls hopped on their 4 wheelers and sped off.... to fight more crime.

One month of Spies and Cops....

We recently sold our house and packed for the move. Caleb and the girls were helping me load up items from the basement to move to our new... temporary... home. I reached down to pick up a suitcase and take it out to the truck. I jerked the suitcase up expecting it to be empty, but instead, nearly dropped the 20 lb bag on my foot.

"What the heck!?" I dropped the other items in my arms, bent down and unzipped the suitcase.... expecting maybe someone packed my hand weights in there...

I flipped open the top of the case, Cans!?!?....  Corn. Peas. Green Beans... I looked at up Caleb with a WTHeck expression.

Caleb smiled, then broke out into a laugh, "Well they needed food on their trips"

OMGosh! Spies!... I bust out laughing. "Girls!..."

So FUNNY, never a dull moment with Suzie. I know you all had lots of chuckles over this.

Sounds like Karter would fit right in. Same kind of imagination.
