A little Deep For 6am

On my way to work this morning.... *note* Suze has slept much better the past two nights. I don't feel like quite the Zombie... Anyway, this morning a negative thought ran through my mind. Without paying much attention I let it stay for a second and before I knew it, this little thought grew into a big 'ole disaster. My mood became dark and I felt like crap..... and nothing even actually happened, it was just a thought.
So I prayed against this thought and I was doing so I got an image....
I saw two magnets; me and the negative thought.... have you ever noticed how easy it is to get sucked into a negative conversation or attitude? Why is being negative so much easier than being positive?... I saw myself stuck to this negative magnet, and when I prayed, my magnet was flipped. Now instead of being attracted to the negative magnet, the negative magnet was repelled. It was like Jesus weakened the strength of the magnets enough to get in between them and His power sent the negative magnet sliding across the table.
Then I pictured Caleb's Star Wars game. The Jedi wielding his light saber, deflecting the laser beams shot at him.... "Zing!.. Zip!.. Zang!.. Ping!" ... Life fires all these 'negatives' at us, trying to hurt us. When we put Jesus in front of us, all the negatives ricochet off Him, leaving us unharmed.
When I first wrote my "ping zang" sound effects I typed "Ping Ping Zip Zang" but I changed it. When I re-read it I laughed out loud because it reminded me of "Beep Beep Zip Zang"
The Road Runner Bugs Bunny Show!!

Great blog - the magnet image is great and how much more powerful the Holy Spirit is than any thing else.

Good analogy. I have experienced the same thing. Sometimes too, I let my worries really overtake me when I'm thinking about what COULD happen (not what has) and I let it consume me. God doesn't call us to be like that or to live in a spirit of fear. But I sometimes forget. Anyway, a thought provoking post and I'm sure glad someone else does the same things I do :)
