Chuck and I have been talking about buying or building a house out in the country.... yeah, I know, we already live in 'hickville' and you can't get any more 'country' than that. But we are running out of room, plus we can't have bon fires in the town limits....
However, I have discovered an interesting feature about our house, and I may not want to sell it. If marketed right, this house could make us millions. Apparently my living room carpet has started sprouting toys! Toys!! Can you believe it? I mean, imagine.... I could start my own toy company and sell them on-line or something like that. An endless supply of toys for me to sell. $$$.
Now, I know you're what thinking, but I promise you that I'm not crazy and I haven't lost my mind. I am telling you the truth. Let me just give you an example.
The other day as I passed through the living room I picked up two dolls, a stroller, 1 blanket and a toy phone. I walked down the hall and put the toys in the girls closet. As I headed back to the kitchen I noticed a we*ble w0bble by the coffee table..... hmmmm, one eyebrow raised...
I busied myself with dinner preparations. Turning around to chop an onion a blanket, a different stroller and a teddy bear appeared on the living room floor.... what the heck.... Scrunching my forehead I finish up the onion, put them in my pan and give them a little stir. Into the living room to pick up the toys. This time I just stuck the items in the toy baskets under to coffee table.
Back in the kitchen to brown the beef.... mmm, the house is starting to smell yummy... I get out my large pot to boil some water for lasagna. Out of the corner of my eye I notice a purse and a pair of sunglasses in the middle of the living room.... again I raise my eyebrow in a questioning manner.... The water is boiling so I add the pasta. Next I mix in the sauce with the cooked beef and let it simmer. Washing my hands and reaching for a dish towel....UH! Well, now there is another teddy bear and baby doll next to the purse. A Dora CD is also on the floor.
Shaking my head I pick up this new batch of toys. First I try to put up the Dora CD, but the CD case is already jammed pack with kid's CDs. I can't seem to squeeze this one in. I lay the CD on the coffee table and reach for the other toys. Pulling out the toy baskets from under the coffee table I cram these toys in.... but they wont fit either, the baskets are already stuffed full.... Sigh... I bundle up the toys and carry them down the hall. Pulling back the curtain to the girls closet (they have a walk in closet that has been turned into their toy room).... Holy Cow!!... I can't even step into the closet, let alone see the floor.... Where are all these toys coming from??
I hear the pasta water boil over so I make a dash for the kitchen. Passing through the living room I see toy Dr kit, another doll and a necklace......
See, I told you. My living room carpet is sprouting toys. I mean, how else could you explain this phenomenon??

If you can get away with it, you need to have a toy yard sale or do the e-bay thing!! Of course the girls may not want to give up any of them :o)
This is so funny!!
Love you, Mom
How can you explain it? Kids! LOL
Fun post!
Rachel
LOL the market is probably saturated with houses just like this! Sorry to tell you, but my carpet does the same thing!
WHat a small world! I have the exact same carpet in my house! I also have this strange furniture that spits it's cushions off and piles them into little forts topped with afghans. LOL!
