5:23 am, I pull out of my drive. My van feels a little sluggish.... Hmmmm, its cool this morning but not that cool.... Thinking at first that the van just needed to warm up a bit, I turned the corner.
Nope, things just aren't right. Putting the van in reverse I back all the way into my drive. Upon getting out to check my van, I spy the problem. A very flat back tire.... UGH! ... *sigh*
Into the house I go.... (whispering) "Chuuuckyyy. I have a flat. Will you come help me?" I hear a muffled, "hmmm, what? A flat tire?"
After looking at my flat and deciding it was entirely too early to change a tire.... yes I could have done it by myself but then I would have been really late for work... Chuck suggested I just take his truck. "Don't you need it today for the tobacco?" I asked. "Yes. But I will just have to wait til you get home."
Firing up the diesel engine, I'm on my way. I drive Chuck's truck on occasions... I usually have all the kids so the van is my best option... I don't drive it enough to feel all the comfortable with it in the dark. But off I went anyway. With one eye out for deer and another on the speedometer... his truck has more power than my van... I made it to work with one minute spare

WAY TOO EARLY FOR THAT KINDA OF THING!! If you can change a tire you are a better woman than I am. I probably really need to learn how to change one now.
Have a good day anyway love Mom
I ALWAYS seem to make it to work with only one minute to spare!! The off going dispatchers hate that about me (I wonder why?).
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I like the term you used - blog walking. I enjoy doing that too. I've also enjoyed wandering around your blog. I grew up on a farm so was able to relate to some of the farming stories. On another note - I'm impressed that you can change a tire. I tell my husband that is why I have him, or the alternative is to call a tow truck! I'm afraid if I tried to change it the tire would come off while I was driving!
