Christmas Eve Service

Chuck and I took the girls to church last night for the Christmas Eve Service. Josh and Caleb were there with their dad and grandparents, sitting on the other side just a few rows back.

The girls were both restless and excited, not to mention unable to use their quiet voices. Suzie wouldn't sit still so Chuck stood her up on his lap. As Suzie glanced around the church she spotted Josh and Caleb.... oh yea. Not good!...

Suzie squealed with delight, "HI GOSH! HI KAHLAHB!" HEY MOMMY, THERE'S GOSH AND KAHLAHB!" Shhhhhhhhhh!!! Suzie be quiet! Gracie sit still. Shhh, Suzie.

A gentleman began to sing his solo. Gracie stood up to see him better. She was fascinated with the idea of this guy singing and began her barrage of questions. The music grew louder as the gentleman's voice built up to the climax of the song. The church was filled with his deep, rich voice.

Suzie, who had been sitting still, stood up, " 'ATS LOUD! 'ATS LOUD!" Chuck tried to change her attention and pulled her to his lap. Suzie struggled with him a bit, she wanted to stand on his lap rather than sit, " 'ATS LOUD, DADDY! 'ATS LOUD!" No Suzie, you're loud, Chuck kept whispering to her.

We started laughing. The family in the pew behind us started laughing. It really was a beautiful song and I felt rude for laughing... but Suzie was too funny.... and you know how things are even funnier when you're NOT supposed to be laughing.....
