I took the girls shopping today for new shoes. Bad idea. The stores were packed with parents getting their kids spring pictures done and several sale goers. However, I didn't see much in the way of sales.... $25 for a night gown for Gracie....
When I couldn't get a sale coupon to print off this morning before we ventured out, I should have taken the hint to stay home. It seemed that every outfit or shoe I liked, I couldn't find the right size for the girls. I couldn't find any light weight sweaters either..... Grrrr... And to make the adventure even more memorable, Gracie had a accident.
We were upstairs in JCP and, of course, the bathrooms were down stairs.... she didn't quite make it.... that would be number 2.. ick... She was about in tears, I felt so sorry for her. But I cleaned her up and put one of Suzie's diapers on her.... I had to throw her undies away...
Then we walked out into the mall and Gracie's eyes grew wide as I've ever seen them, "Whats this, Mommy?" as she looked around at the openness of the mall. I explained it was the 'mall'
Remember Gracie? We've been here before"
She slowly scanned her new surroundings, running to the glass wall so she could see the down stairs part of the mall. Her ears picked up on the echo effect and looked at me with a smile, "Oh Mommy. It sounds be-ootiful in he-ah!" ....boy, I am in trouble. She is going to be a mall, shopping monster..
Anyway, I am going to take a brief pause. I have had two days off this month- working overtime and training. This is my long weekend off, not to mention the start of spring break.
Tomorrow I plan to clean. And then clean some more.
Sunday we are going to church. It will be the first Easter Sunday I have had off in several years.
Monday the boys want to rearrange their room.
Tuesday I am planning a trip to the Indianapolis Zoo or the Children's Museum, depending on the weather.
Wednesday I am going to a quilting class. Twice a year, Spring break and Fall break, we get together and make a quilt top. This year we are doing something different. We are going to make lap quilts for wounded soldiers and then ship them off. I am so excited about this. It is the coolest thing I've ever done.
So, unless I have some down time, I will see you back on Thursday.
Oh, its sunny and 60 outside right now. ....Whoo Hoo. I am doing cart wheels of joy

Oh you are in trouble...but that is so cute!!!
Sounds like a great week - we'll miss you but it's for a good cause! I love the idea of doing the lap quilts for wounded soldiers.
PS - quit gloating over the weather. It's snowing and nasty here, with roads being closed down! :)
Shopping...what a love to instill early!
Bekah, that is sooo exciting about the quilts for the soldiers - so proud of you. I felt so sorry for Gracie but she is a trooper to put the diaper on - she didn't have much choice did she. That was cute about the mall too, I can picture her face.
Have a wonderful week off.
Love Mom
And today is cold and rainy and it was snowing earlier. I have a theory that for every nice day we have in March here in Indiana, we pay for it with 5 or more bad days. Remember that one heavenly day we had a couple of weeks ago? Then it rained for 4 straight days? Yeah.
I'm so glad you have Easter off! Praise the Lord!
Have fun at the Children's Museum. It's one of our favorite places to go--although the 14 year old is outgrowing it a bit.
I hope you enjoy your days off. Happy Easter!! We went to church and then went over to my parents and watched a movie. It was nice. I've just been CLEANING all day after that. I hate to do it, but man, I feel so good afterwards. I wish it would stay this way!
That is funny about the mall..not about the accident though. That wasn't fun, I'm sure :( Enjoy your time off. Brandon was off last week for SB - he is back to school tomorrow.
