The other night Chuck and Gracie were watching the movie "Twister". I came in and said, "Hey, you're watching Twister". Gracie looked up at me and said, "No! We air (are) wachin Tormatoe (tornado).
Gracie and Suzie have those toy windmill things on a stick, (ya know, you hold them and blow on them to make them spin around?) Anyway, they were playing with them Friday afternoon. I have a box fan in the girls room that I turn on at night to use as a noise buffer so they don't wake each other up. Well, Gracie had it turned on and they were letting the fan blow their toy thingys. A few minutes later Gracie and Suzie came down the hall pulling the fan with them. "We want to play in here." Gracie said. She wanted to know where to plug the fan in so I showed her. I told her to make sure the fan was off first and not to touch the prongs. She plugged in the fan and they sat in front of it, letting it blow in their face.
This only lasted a few minutes, then Gracie unplugged the fan and dragged it back to her room. Again, I told her to be careful. Several minutes passed when I heard Gracie yelp. I ran down the hall to see both box fans in their room. Gracie was apparently trying to plug in the second box fan and her hand touched the prongs. She wasn't too upset but her hand was a little red. I explained to her that she got shocked and showed her how it happened.
This has been the hottest two weeks of the summer. Tuesday we set a record high over 100, with temperatures just as high the remainder of the week. Well of course I waited until this week to take all four kids shopping..... I must have lost my mind, but hey, I guess I can blame that on the heat.... which is another reason I hated living in FL. Here I only have to deal with heat like this one or two weeks. In FL it was for 6 months... We were in and out of the car, but never in it long enough to let the a/c cool us off.
We bought school supplies, shoes, pants, shirts, dresses and Gracie got a back pack for pre-school. She just thought she was so cool.

That's so cute. Steven calls them 'tormatoes' too.
Last week was really hot and hunid here as well. It reminded me of living in Missouri in the river basins. HOT and MUGGY! Today was just gorgeous with it only hitting 79 and low humidity. Ahhh!
Ok, Asa and Gracie are cousins for sure! I just read your blog this evening and put Asa to bed 15 minutes ago. A few minutes later I hear, "Ow! Ow!" followed by a long, pitiful cry. I go in his room and he had unplugged his wall unit vaporizer and got his little finger shocked. It was red and hurting. I was trying not to laugh b/c I thought of Gracie doing the exact same thing. I explained also that he is to not touch that and he could get hurt very badly.
3 year olds are VERY curious and they want to do everything themselves! He even wanted to read his bedtime story to himself. So funny.
