Chuck called Tuesday afternoon, just as I got home with the girls. The day was warm and gorgeous, "Wanna take the girls fishing?" A fireman on his department has a really nice farm pond and Chuck wanted to try it out.
I have been wanting to post a video of Suzie but I need editing software to do it. Asking around to different bloggers, someone mentioned that they posted a video they took from their regular camera.... hey, my camera takes video... So I decided to try it out.
This first video is Gracie reeling in her fish. She was obsessed with knowing if the fish she caught were girls or boys... Suzie cheered her on with a "Whoo Hoo"...
Suzie used a whole other technique for catching her fish. She was an absolute mess but loved every minute of it

Suzie started kissing the fish so I grabbed my camera again, trying to get it on film. She kept calling the fish same name that sounded like "Burkhead" I have no idea what or where she got this name .... Caleb watched the video and thought she was calling the fish Buttheads. Chuck thinks she is calling them Buckets (cuz Chuck kept telling her to get him a fish out of the bucket).... hard to say.
We fished for about an hour, keeping 12 fish. The girls were ready to go home. They were fished out

Wow Gracie really knows how to handle that fishing rod and reel. Good for her. I LOVE little Suzie's method of "catching" fish. . . You guys will have many happy memories from a wonderfully simple activity out in God's creation. Where was Josh and Caleb?

The girls are so cute and I loved Suzie's "woo hoo" to Gracie. Asa wanted to watch over and over. He just got a fishing pole and went fishing for the first time yesterday. His favorite part I think is getting to have a "stinky" worm. He is ready to fish with his cousins...that's for sure!
Those are awesome Rebekkah!!! I love the videos. And so familiar....I wish I lived closer, I would have gone with you!!! I have the fishing fever, let me tell you. I have already asked my dad if we can go fishing when I get back from my conference, on Memorial Day weekend. He said we can go!! yea!!! Thanks for telling me about the videos casue you know I haven't had time to check blogs, but I had to check out the videos.

Oh my gosh they are just darling!!! Suzie was cracking me up...I was like that when I was little. Always catching critters fearlessly. Looks like you had a great day.
I hope we can take our kids fishing soon. We live in an area with lots of lakes & one of the best for fishing is 2 miles out of town. Gotta get us some tackle first though...
